Saturday, May 15, 2010: The Gwinnett Stampede made the trek from Snellville to Pinckneyville Park on Saturday to meet the red hot Norcross Blue Devil

11U team. Besides some very questionable calls made by the field umpire, the game was very enjoyable. Both teams were swinging the bats tremendously.

The Norcross team were led again by the great hitting of Mac (ball looks like a pumkin coming at me) Ruedt, who went two for three with three RBI's.

Jake Camarda, Luis DeWendt, Cory Kelly, and Zach Green also contributed with hits. In the end, the Blue Devils came up just a little short, leaving the

tying run on at 2nd base in the bottom of the final inning. However, the team played well enough to win. It just wasn't Norcross' day. The Stampede

held on to win 7-5.

Saturday, May 8, 2010: A very strong Bunten Road Destroyer team traveled to Norcross for a good old fashioned slugfest on Saturday. All totaled, both

teams put up a combined twenty-one hits and twenty-six runs. Fortunately, Norcross had thirteen of the twenty-one hits and eighteen of the twenty-

six runs and won 18-8. The Blue Devils were led by power-house maximus Jay (long ball) Estime with a double, home run, two runs socred, and three

big RBI's. Carson (stong-arm) Taylor also had a great day at the plate reaching base all three times he batted (once on a long double from the right side

which one-hopped the left field fence). Mac (see the ball hit the ball) Ruedt added to his spectacular stretch going two for three with two long

doubles and three big RBI's. Max Tracey also had a fantastic day at the plate going three for three with four big RBI's. We also had great pitching

from Luis (flame-thrower) Dewendt and William (down mainstreet) Newlin who pitched around a few errors and also contended with a minute strike

zone while still only allowing six earned runs. It was another strong effort from the entire Norcross team who will now ride a four game win streak

into next weekend's game versus the South Gwinnett Stampede. Unfortunately, yesterday's game was not without its costs however. Zach

(why does this always happen to me) Green who was one for one with two scored runs, went down hard in the third inning when what looked to

be an extremely hard hit ground ball suddenly took a malicious hop immediately before it reached Zach's glove and bounced up hitting Zach

with centripetal force right in the mouth. Zach was forced to leave the game to undergo extensive dental reconstruction. At this time, Zach

has been placed on the DL for an unspecified amount of time. Please keep him in your thoughts and prayers.

Sunday, May 2, 2010: Norcross traveled to Collins Hill today to play the Collins Hill Black team. Norcross took up where they left off on Saturday

and defeated the Eagles 12-3. Zach (power-up) Green led the charge going two for three at the plate (both doubles) and turning a double play

(4-tag the runner-3) in the third inning when the Eagles were attempting to mount a comeback. Norcross racked up fourteen hits overall in

the game. Jake (super-fly) Camarda, William (don't call me Bill) Newlin, Carson (one hop fence) Taylor, Mac (hot stick) Ruedt, Luis

(long ball) DeWendt, Parker (utility extraordinaire) Lowe, Jay (maximus) Maxa, Max (hammer-time) Tracey and Cory (cool hand Luke) Kelly all

contributed to our twelve runs with clutch hits. We also had another stellar day of pitching. Jay Maxa threw the first two innings allowing

only one run on two hits with no walks. Cory Kelly finished the game pitching three remarkable innings allowing only two runs on two hits. The

Norcross defense made only a single error during the hard played game with Collins Hill Black putting the ball in play on numerous occasions.

All in all, it was a very memorable weekend for the Norcross Blue Devil team who will now ride a three game winning streak into next week's

game versus Bunten Park. Way to go Blue Devils. Great weekend!

Saturday, May 1, 2010: It was a great day to be a Norcross 11U Blue Devil. May Day brought a two opponent double header to Pinckneyville

Park. In the first game of the double header, Norcross took on our cross-town rivals, the Peachtree Ridge Lions. Norcross came out stong scoring

five runs in the first inning with hits from Jake (in-the swing) Camarda, Carson (switch blade) Taylor, Mac (the knife) Ruedt, and William

(smooth opreator) Newlin. Norcross put another five runs on the board in the second inning with hits from Jay (Crusher the Closer)

Maxa (double) (1-2), Jake Camarda (2-3), Zach (reliable) Green (1-2), Mac Ruedt (3-3!), and William Newlin (2-2!). The entire Norcross

lineup's bats came alive for this very important game. Meanwhile Max Tracey started the game at pitcher and only allowed one run

to cross the plate. Parker Lowe followed with three brilliantly pitched innings allowing only one run to score. And Jay Maxa had another

great save coming into the game with bases loaded in the bottom of the fifth inning and getting the opposing batter to pop up to Luis

(flame-thrower) DeWendt at short stop. Special kudos to Mac Ruedt who went up against his prior teammates and had a stellar day!

Norcross wins 10-6!!!

In the second game of the double header, Norcross faced a very competitive North Gwinnett (Black) Bulldog team.

Unlike the first game, this competition was a textbook pitcher's duel. Carson Taylor pithced the first two innings allowing no runs and

no hits with a strike out. William Newlin followed with three flawless innings of great pitching. The two runs North Gwinnett

scored were both unearned. However, unfortunately they were enough to tie the game at 2-2. At that juncture, flame thrower

Luis DeWendt entered the ballgame and completely shut the North Gwinnett team down. The ballgame entered the all important

seventh inning. Jake Camarda was at the plate and was hit by the pitch just above the ankle with a searing fastball. Jake knew we needed

his blazing speed in the game and he stayed in to run, despite his swelling ankle. True to form, Jake stole the base and got into scoring

position. Zach Green then drew a walk. Carson Taylor then hit what turned out to be the game winning RBI to left field scoring

Jake (Speed Demon although injured) Camarda. In the North Gwinnett offensive portion of the inning, flame thrower DeWent

struck out the side (after allowing a hit to the first batter he faced). That secured the Norcross Victory 3-2. It was a great

day to don the Blue Norcross Jerseys. Go Norcross 11U!!!

Sunday, April 25, 2010: We would like to welcome our newest sponsor, the Cancer Center of Gwinnett, located at 698 Duluth

Highway, in Lawrenceville, Georgia. (770) 962.8888. Thank you so much for your kind donation!

Sunday, April 25, 2010: The Norcross 11U bats unfortunately stayed quiet again today and North Gwinnett Red took advantage

winning the game 5-1. We had another great day on defense, with some great pitching from Jake Camarda, Zach Green and

William Newlin. Mac Ruedt supplied the batting going two for two. We also got hits from Jake Camarda, Luis DeWendt,

Cory Kelly and Jay Maxa. Norcross had some problem on the bases today having several runners picked off of base.

Norcross looks to regroup and come back strong next weekend.

Friday, April 23, 2010: Congratulations to West Gwinnett for playing a great game against our Norcross Blue 11U team.

It was a real nail biter with West Gwinnett coming out on top 5-4. We had some great defensive play by Jake Camarda,

Max Tracey, and Parker Lowe. Mac Ruedt had a great hit to the left field fence. Carson Taylor had a great pitching outing.

In the end, Norcross just gave up too many free passes to the West Gwinnett squad (9).

Everyone hopes we will get one more opportunity to play the Warriors in the playoffs.

Sunday, April 18, 2010: Congratulations to Collins Hill for playing a great game against our Norcross Blue 11U team.

It was a great game (as usually is the case when these two teams play one another), but Norcross came up a little short (11-9).

Saturday, April 17, 2010: Congratulations to the Norcross 11U baseball team for persevering against Mill Creek and winning 7-5.

Friday, April 16, 2010: Congratulations to Jay Estime who hit two dingers against Lawrenceville on Friday night, April 16th.

Further, congratulations to Mac Reudt who hit another dinger in Friday's game. Also, congratulations to our surperb pitching

staff consisting of Jake Camarda, Max Tracey and Jay Maxa who gave up only two runs in the six inning game.

Congratulations to the entire Norcross squad for their 14-4 victory! Go Blue Devils.
